1. Take attendance and ask Noah to take it to the office.
2. Grade 9s: Using word reference, their notes and a dictionary (if needed) write an 8 sentence synopsis of the film we watched (Les Miserables).
3. Grade 10s: Finish reading the book: Les Miserables.  Write a supported opinion paragraph outlining which version they enjoyed more (the book or movie) and why.  Their paragraph must include:

• introductory sentence
• 3 differences between the book and movie (did those differences add or detract from their enjoyment?)
• 1 way they would improve the story
• opinion as to why this book/movie is seen as a classic
• conclusion

4.  Please collect the work at the end of the period.
